The Dancers in the Mist



My debut epic fantasy novel is now available via Amazon, Paperback, Kindle, and free on Kindle Unlimited.

Malachi Jan’s dreams of being an adventurer akin to his father’s stories of the near mythical adventuring guild The Dancers in the Mist, starts to seem more obtainable after a chance encounter leads him to discover a talent for summoning creatures.  Little does Malachi know that one spur of the moment act will become the catalyst for a journey that echoes the tales of The Dancers in the Mist themselves.




 

The art assets included in the book.


For the front and back cover design I wanted to show elements of the book without giving away too much information. I decided a graphic design approach with silhouettes was the best way to do this.

The first map is of Jan’arra, the main continent that the story takes place in.

The second map is for Blue Mist Valley, the main location of most of the story. 

And the final image is a map of Terra’nor the world my story takes place in, like my front cover I wanted to leave it up to the imagination of the viewer, so I went with a silhouette approach.

Recent concept art projects

Some recent concept art projects. The Druid Character is a sketch that I decided to design further and turned into a render and model sheet. The other is a small Grim Dawn fan art project I started that designs props for a new outpost/quest hub called fort daen. There are designs for the blacksmith table, inventors table, stash, and a training grounds area. And below are some sketches I did in November.

Watch Tower Level one wip 2 and barrel asset with textures

Some current progress on my watch tower model. I redid the base of the house as I realised I was doing myself no favours by building the whole thing as one model; so I split everything up into separate models, which I think looks much better, and will make texturing much easier later on. Ill do a turnaround of this at the end, as, as you can see I went beyond simply modelling what can be seen in the isometric view of the original concept art.Which can be seen here Edit: I am going to start making assets/props as well to start adding to scenes, here is my first one, a simple barrel.
