Chris Reilly's custom brush set and video tutorials available via gumroad.

My custom brush set is now available buy via gumroad. https://chrisreilly.gumroad.com/

Below is the description of the set:

This product includes Chris Reilly’s custom brush set for Photoshop, featuring over 260 hand painted brushes that he created and tested over ten years of digital art experience. It is primarily aimed at Landscape Art and Environment Design, however there are also drawing brushes, brushes aimed at giving a painterly and traditional feel, blending brushes, a variety of FX brushes for costume, treasure, fire, magic, chains, and some abstract brushes made using traditional paints and inks.

The pack also features an in depth two-part custom brush tutorial so you can see how to make and design your own brushes, as well as a PSD that has examples and notes about the custom brush set with a video going over all of the brushes. Includes the PSD for the custom brush from photo reference demo. Overall there is just under 3 hours of real time video that covers these topics and covers the included PSD which itself has multiple demonstrations in.

Topics covered –

-          Creating a custom brush in Photoshop

-          Creating an action

-          Designing a brush with an overview of the various settings

-          Effective use of custom brushes – multiple illustration demonstrations

-          Creating a custom brush from photographic reference

-          Using a photo to make a custom brush

-        A variety of illustration tips for example on composition, colour, texturing etc are also given throughout the video demonstrations, however this is not the focus of the product.

Please note the brushes were designed for normal brush mode use, whilst they can work in the mixer brush and other modes the results will vary. Also note some of the brushes have a lot of detail so if you have a slow computer you may have trouble using them.

New artwork and youtube channel demonstrations

Some new artwork, The first Illustration is from a landscape illustration demo I did for my youtube channel. And the second Illustration is from a water painting demonstration I did for my youtube channel that I decided to take to a finish, I did a break down video that shows how I finished the landscape as well. My youtube channel can be seen here: https://youtube.com/@chrisreillyart

The mushroom one above was a from a sketch I started for fun that I went and finished for my portfolio so I have something a little different in there. And the Kobold treasure hunter below was for a Hearthstone inspired Illustration, again I wanted something more fun in my portfolio.

Dec 2023 to Feb 2024 Art

New portfolio Illustration

Game mat illustration

landscape illustration

Some Illustrations that I did between December and early February. The first one is a new portfolio piece I worked on, on and off between December and January. The second is a game mat illustration idea I had. In the end I didn't go ahead with it as the cost to make and ship them wouldn’t have been worth it. And the last is a recent landscape illustration I did for fun.

The last couple of months have been terrible, I spent all of December and January looking for housing since my landlord did a section 21 at the worst time possible with no warning. I have a new place now, just over the bridge in Saltash. Its my own space for once, before I was in shared accommodation, so it worked out well in the end.

Unfortunately during the move my hard drive was damaged and I lost everything for the second time in a few years. Thankfully I backed up the most important stuff in multiple places this time, so it wasn't as devasting as before. I don't have any of my Psds though, so I won’t be going back and editing anything. The first painting here took ages, so I am glad I backed it up.

One of the benefits of having my own place now, is a space to do some traditional art. so I did some gouache painting and biro drawings recently.
